Gold Glitters, Silver Shines: Precious Metal Prices Hold Strong Across Indian Cities on July 7
July-7, 2025: Gold and silver prices across major Indian cities continued their upward momentum on Monday, July 7, reflecting resilient global demand and strong domestic appetite for precious metals.
According to data from the Indian Bullion Association and MCX, gold remains firmly near the ₹1 lakh mark for 10 grams, with 24-carat gold priced at ₹97,310/10 gm and 22-carat gold at ₹89,201/10 gm. Silver also maintained its elevated position, trading above ₹1.08 lakh/kg for the third consecutive week.
A report by ICICI Bank Global Markets reaffirmed gold and silver’s status as safe haven assets, with risk-averse investors continuing to allocate funds toward bullion amid volatile equity markets, inflation concerns, and geopolitical tensions.
Over the past two decades, gold has delivered a staggering 1,200% return, rising from ₹7,638 in 2005 to over ₹1,00,000 in 2025. Year-to-date, it has gained 31%, making it one of the top-performing asset classes in 2025. Silver has also shown a robust long-term gain of 668.84%.
While bullion prices continue to reflect global optimism for metals as a hedge, retail buyers are advised to note that final prices may include additional charges, such as GST, making the retail cost slightly higher than listed spot or bullion prices.
