Gold Prices Today Dip Amid Global Tensions; Check City-Wise Rates for June 21
June 21, 2025 | Gold prices in India witnessed a slight dip on June 21, 2025, influenced by escalating geopolitical tensions between Israel and Iran, as well as the US Federal Reserve’s hawkish stance on interest rates. Despite today’s decline, gold remains on a historic six-month bull run, driven by global uncertainty and safe-haven demand.

According to the Indian Bullion Association (IBA) and MCX data, 24-carat gold opened at ₹99,300/10 gm, while 22-carat gold stood at ₹91,025/10 gm. Silver, meanwhile, continues to stay firm, trading above ₹1.06 lakh per kg.
In the last 20 years, gold prices have climbed nearly 1,200%, rising from ₹7,638 in 2005 to over ₹1,00,000 in 2025. With a 3% increase in June alone, if the trend continues, this would mark six consecutive months of growth—a rare occurrence noted only 13 times in the past 75 years, according to Axis Securities.

Silver has also posted a 668.84% gain over two decades and is currently witnessing robust momentum with spot prices crossing ₹1.09 lakh/kg recently.
Market analysts caution investors to incorporate gold and silver strategically, particularly in volatile times. Despite high prices, they remain safe-haven assets amidst global crises, inflation worries, and interest rate uncertainties.

Retail investors should note that jewellers may add taxes, GST, and making charges, which could increase the final billing amount.
