
Google Lays Off Hundreds in Android, Pixel and Chrome Divisions: Report
New Delhi, April 11 – Tech giant Google has reportedly laid off hundreds of employees from its platforms and devices unit, which includes teams working on the Android operating system, Pixel smartphones, and the Chrome browser.
According to a report by The Information, citing a source familiar with the matter, the layoffs were carried out on Thursday and affect some of the most critical segments of Google’s consumer hardware and software ecosystem.

The restructuring is part of Alphabet Inc.’s broader efforts to streamline operations across its various business arms amid ongoing economic uncertainties and a shifting focus toward AI-driven development.
