Harrier EV Receives Record 10,000 Bookings In 24 Hours – Production Starts

July 5, 2025: Tata Motors has officially confirmed that its much-anticipated Tata Harrier EV is being manufactured at the company’s Pune facility, with customer deliveries set to begin in July 2025. The electric SUV has already created waves in the market, registering over 10,000 bookings on the day of its launch — the second-highest booking tally ever seen in its segment.

The Harrier EV, based on Tata’s successful Omega Arc platform, marks a major step in the automaker’s electric mobility push, offering a premium electric SUV experience with a bold design, long range, and advanced features.

Massive Demand Signals Strong EV Sentiment

The exceptional booking numbers indicate a surging demand for electric SUVs in India, especially in the mid-size premium category. The Harrier EV’s overwhelming response places it just behind the market leader in terms of launch-day bookings in its segment — underscoring Tata’s stronghold in the Indian EV space.

Industry analysts suggest the Harrier EV’s success could be attributed to its blend of robust design, long-range battery (expected to exceed 500 km), all-wheel drive capability, and ADAS features, all while retaining the rugged SUV DNA of the ICE Harrier.

Tata’s EV Portfolio Expansion

With the Harrier EV, Tata Motors expands its growing EV portfolio, which already includes models like the Nexon EV, Punch EV, and Tiago EV. The Harrier EV is the first electric vehicle in Tata’s lineup with AWD (all-wheel drive) capabilities and will likely be the company’s flagship electric SUV.

The model was first unveiled as a concept at the Auto Expo and has since attracted interest for its bold styling, illuminated front grille, futuristic interior, and intelligent tech integration.

Deliveries and Production Ramping Up

Tata Motors is currently ramping up production at its Pune manufacturing plant to meet the high demand. Deliveries for early customers are expected to begin in July 2025, with full-scale deliveries projected over the subsequent months.

Tata is also expected to offer multiple variants of the Harrier EV, catering to different customer needs — including long-range versions and feature-packed top trims.

A New Chapter in India’s EV Journey

The launch and record-breaking bookings of the Tata Harrier EV mark a key milestone in India’s electric vehicle transition, particularly in the SUV space. With government incentives, growing charging infrastructure, and increased consumer awareness, models like the Harrier EV are expected to lead the charge in mainstream EV adoption.
