IDFC FIRST Bank Joins Income Tax Portal to Enable Direct Tax Payments
Mumbai, January 9: IDFC FIRST Bank has integrated with the Income Tax Portal to facilitate the collection of Direct Taxes on behalf of the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT), Government of India. This development enables the bank’s customers to enjoy a seamless, user-friendly experience for paying direct taxes through both online platforms and branch services.
IDFC FIRST Bank customers can use the Retail and Corporate Internet Banking platforms to pay their taxes with ease. Additionally, payments can be made at any IDFC FIRST Bank branch using cash, cheques, or demand drafts. The system offers downloadable challans, instant payment confirmations, and a simplified process for managing tax obligations.
Speaking about the initiative, Chinmay Dhoble, Country Head – Retail Liabilities, IDFC FIRST Bank, said:
“We are a Universal Bank and aim to offer a comprehensive suite of products and services. Payment of Income Tax and GST were the only major services missing from our portfolio. With the approval of CBDT, the Government of India, and the RBI, we are now authorized to collect taxes on behalf of CBDT.”
He added:
“Our high-quality internet banking services now include a customer-friendly interface for tax payments. We encourage our customers to leverage this new facility through both online and branch channels for a hassle-free experience.”
With this integration, IDFC FIRST Bank continues its journey towards becoming a fully universal bank, ensuring customers have access to all essential financial services under one roof. The addition of Direct Tax collection further strengthens its offerings, aligning with its commitment to ease customer banking experiences.
This collaboration marks a significant milestone for IDFC FIRST Bank, ensuring efficient and intuitive tax payment solutions for its customers. Whether through digital platforms or traditional branch visits, the bank is dedicated to simplifying the tax payment process and enhancing customer convenience.
