May 22, 2025: The Indian Railways has officially launched SwaRail, a next-generation mobile application that consolidates all passenger-facing railway services into a single, easy-to-use platform. Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) under the Ministry of Railways, the app aims to transform train travel through seamless digital integration.

Launched in early 2025, SwaRail was initially available in beta for select Android and iOS users, but early access is currently full. The app is expected to open up to more users soon.

   Developed by CRIS, SwaRail combines services previously scattered across different apps like IRCTC Rail Connect and UTS.

   Users can book all types of train tickets and access travel history under the “My Bookings” tab.

   Log in using your IRCTC or Rail Connect credentials, or create a new account.

   Get real-time updates on train status, delays, and expected arrival times.
5. Coach Position Locator:
   Find your coach’s exact location on the platform before the train arrives for a smoother boarding experience.

   Access features like Plan Shipment, Track Shipment, and Terminal Finder for freight services.
