November 24, 2024: Owning a Lamborghini in India is often seen as a symbol of luxury and success. However, a viral video has laid bare the challenges of driving these high-performance cars on the country’s pothole-laden and speed-breaker-filled roads.
In the now-viral clip, a sleek black Lamborghini Huracan is seen gingerly navigating a bad stretch of road, only to hit a pothole. Beside it, a Hyundai Exter cruises through the same obstacles with little effort. The stark contrast between the two vehicles has sparked a wave of reactions across social media, with the video amassing over 900,000 views on Instagram.
Shared by Instagram user @pavangamemaster, the footage highlights the incompatibility of supercars like the Lamborghini Huracan, designed for smooth tracks and highways, with India’s often rough and uneven road conditions.
The video has stirred mixed emotions online. While some users found humour in the supercar’s predicament, others expressed sympathy for the Lamborghini owner.
One user commented, “A supercar in India? It’s like putting a tiger in a small cage!” Another quipped, “Instead of struggling, maybe stick to a hatchback!”
Not everyone mocked the situation, however. Some users empathised with the reality of maintaining high-end vehicles on Indian roads. “This is the reality of luxury cars in a country where road infrastructure is a work in progress,” wrote one user.
This isn’t the first time a Lamborghini has struggled with India’s road conditions. A similar video recently went viral on X (formerly Twitter), showing a red Lamborghini struggling through water-filled potholes in Telangana. Onlookers were seen capturing photos and videos of the car as it carefully maneuvered through the bumpy road.
While supercars like the Lamborghini Huracan are built for speed, precision, and smooth surfaces, their low ground clearance and stiff suspensions make them unsuitable for navigating uneven or poorly maintained roads.
India’s roads often present a unique challenge for supercar owners, with frequent potholes, unpredictable terrain, and ubiquitous speed breakers. While owning a Lamborghini, Ferrari, or Porsche remains a dream for many enthusiasts, the viral video underscores the practical limitations of driving such cars in India’s urban and rural environments.
As one user aptly put it, “Supercars may own the highways, but in the face of poorly maintained roads, even a Lamborghini has to slow down.”
