December 8, 2024: Japan, renowned for its cutting-edge technology, has introduced a groundbreaking innovation: a ‘human washing machine’ that can wash and dry users in just 15 minutes. Developed by Science Co., the AI-powered device, named Mirai Ningen Sentakuki (Future Human Washing Machine), combines advanced cleaning technology with a focus on mental well-being, offering a spa-like experience that could redefine personal hygiene and relaxation.
How It Works:
Launch Timeline:
This innovative concept, inspired by a similar 1970s prototype by Sanyo Electric, will debut at the Osaka Expo 2025. Over 1,000 attendees will have the opportunity to experience it firsthand. Following its trial, the machine is expected to enter mass production, with plans to develop a home-use edition in the near future.
Reservations for the automated bathtub are already being accepted on Science Co.’s website.
Comments from Developers:
“We’re about 70 percent there,” said Yasuaki Aoyama, Chairman of Science Co., during a recent lecture. “We plan to offer 1,000 general visitors an opportunity to use it during the expo.”
This innovation is poised to revolutionise both personal hygiene and mental well-being, merging convenience, cleanliness, and relaxation into one futuristic experience.
