Musk’s Custody Battle With Ex Partner- Grimes Says He Became ‘Unrecognisable’

In a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), Grimes revealed how the couple’s custody battle has strained their connection and left her emotionally and financially drained.

“Spent a year locked in battle in a state with terrible mothers’ rights, having my Instagram posts and modeling used as reasons I shouldn’t have my kids,” Grimes wrote. She described the heartbreak of being separated from one of her children for five months while navigating a contentious legal fight with Musk, who she called “the love of my life” but admitted has become “unrecognizable” to her during the dispute.

The legal feud, which began in 2023 and reportedly concluded in mid-2024, saw Musk and Grimes suing each other—he filed in Texas, and she filed in California. The details of the custody agreement remain sealed, but Grimes hinted in her post that she has custody every other week, writing, “It’s my week without my kids, so if u wanna get responses from me, it’s now or every second week after this.”

The post also shed light on Musk’s current lifestyle. He has reportedly been spending significant time with Donald Trump, occasionally bringing the children along. Their eldest son, X Æ A-12, has been photographed at Mar-a-Lago several times, including on election night.

Despite the emotional and financial toll—Grimes said she was “going bankrupt” fighting for her children—she struck a defiant and optimistic tone. “I’m grateful for every bullet I caught. Cuz I feel on top of the world right now. And everything that used to give me anxiety feels like child’s play after all this,” she wrote. Referring to the experience as both “ego death” and “ego birth,” Grimes noted that her struggles have been transformative for her art and personal growth.
