May 13, May 2025: The shares of Avic Chengdu Aircraft, manufacturer of Pakistan’s J-10 fighter jets, plunged 9.31% in intraday trade on Tuesday, closing at 86.93 yuan, as investor sentiment soured following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s post-ceasefire speech highlighting India’s military superiority and warning of retaliation if terrorism continues.
The sharp decline comes after Modi visited the Adampur air base, which Pakistan falsely claimed to have destroyed, and issued a direct warning to Islamabad:

- Indian defence stocks rallied on the back of Modi’s aggressive posturing and confidence in the nation’s armed forces.
- In contrast, Chinese military-linked stocks fell, with:
- China State Shipbuilding Corp down over 4%
- Zhuzhou Hongda Electronics Corp fell more than 6%
- Avic’s J-10C jets were reportedly used in Pakistan’s failed retaliatory strike during Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.
