Sharjah Strengthens Global Tourism Presence at ITB Berlin 2025

Sharjah [UAE], March 7Sharjah, represented by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA), has taken center stage at ITB Berlin 2025, the world’s largest travel trade event.

Held from March 4 to 6 at the Berlin Exhibition Centre, the event—under the theme “The World of Travel Lives Here”—serves as a platform for Sharjah to showcase its diverse tourism offerings and solidify its position as a top global travel destination.

“This exhibition is a crucial opportunity for us to present Sharjah’s unique landmarks, rich culture, and world-class tourism infrastructure to an international audience,” said Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Chairman of SCTDA.


A Pavilion That Brings Sharjah to Life

At ITB Berlin 2025, Sharjah’s immersive pavilion takes visitors on a journey through the emirate’s breathtaking landscapes, cultural heritage, and modern attractions.

Highlights include:

  • Desert, mountainous, and coastal landscapes for adventure seekers
  • Heritage sites that reflect Sharjah’s deep-rooted culture
  • Modern landmarks showcasing innovation and progress

A Strong Delegation Representing Sharjah

Sharjah’s participation is supported by a high-profile delegation of 19 entities from both the public and private sectors, reflecting a collaborative approach to developing the emirate’s tourism industry.

Key participants include:

  • Government Entities: Environment and Protected Areas Authority, Sharjah International Airport Authority, and Sharjah Museums Authority.
  • Private Sector Representatives: Air Arabia, Sharjah National Hotels, and other hospitality and tourism brands.

The delegation is actively engaging with global travel leaders to explore partnerships and promote Sharjah as a must-visit destination for European and German tourists.


Sharjah’s Growing Popularity Among European Travelers

With its strong historical ties with Germany and Europe, Sharjah is becoming a sought-after destination for cultural and adventure tourism.

  • In 2023, Sharjah welcomed approximately 13,000 German visitors.
  • This number is expected to rise to 14,000 in 2024.
  • European tourists overall increased by 16% in 2024, reflecting Sharjah’s growing appeal to international travelers.
