Swiggy Co-Founder Lakshmi Nandan Reddy Obul Resigns; Company Announces Major Board Changes

Food delivery and quick commerce platform Swiggy has announced significant changes at the board level, including the resignation of its co-founder Lakshmi Nandan Reddy Obul. Obul stepped down as Whole-Time Director and Head of Innovation, effective April 10, 2026, to explore new professional opportunities, as per a regulatory filing.

In his resignation letter, Obul stated that he is looking to pursue new areas of interest in the next phase of his career. He also expressed pride in Swiggy’s journey and confidence in its leadership, adding that he would continue to support the company as a well-wisher.

Key Appointments Announced
The company’s board has approved the appointment of Renan De Castro Alves Pinto as Nominee Director representing Prosus Ventures. He replaces Roger Rabalais, who is stepping down following his transition from the firm.

Additionally, Swiggy confirmed that co-founder and Chief Growth Officer Phani Kishan Addepalli and Group CFO Rahul Bothra will join the board as Additional Directors starting June 1, 2026.

Leadership Reacts
Commenting on the developments, Swiggy Group CEO Sriharsha Majety said that both Phani Kishan and Rahul Bothra have played a crucial role in shaping the company since its early days. He emphasized that their experience and strategic vision will be key as Swiggy enters its next phase of growth.

On Obul’s exit, Majety described him as a “visionary force” who contributed significantly to Swiggy’s transformation from a single neighbourhood startup in Bengaluru to a nationwide platform serving millions of users.
