Trump Declares ‘Economic Revolution’, Says China Hit Harder in Tariff War

Despite fears of recession and China’s retaliatory tariffs, Donald Trump insists the U.S. is winning the trade war and bringing back jobs.

April 5, 2025: Donald Trump Claims China ‘Hit Much Harder’ in Tariff War, Promises Economic Revolution

Amid heightened tensions and fears of global recession, U.S. President Donald Trump asserted that China is suffering more than the United States in the ongoing tariff war. Speaking out on Truth Social Saturday, Trump accused China and other nations of treating the U.S. “unsustainably badly” and declared a new era of economic resurgence.

“China has been hit much harder than the USA, not even close,” Trump wrote. “We have been the dumb and helpless ‘whipping post’ but not any longer.”

Trump’s remarks come just a day after a sharp fall in U.S. stock markets sparked fresh economic anxieties. Nevertheless, the president projected optimism, touting aggressive policies aimed at reshaping the country’s industrial and economic landscape.

“We are bringing back jobs and businesses like never before,” Trump claimed, adding that over $5 trillion in investments have already poured in under his administration. “This is an economic revolution, and we will win. Hang tough, it won’t be easy, but the end result will be historic.”

His comments followed China’s recent announcement to impose an additional 34% tariff on all U.S. goods from April 10, further escalating trade tensions. The move raises total duties on American products to 54% in 2025, according to Beijing’s finance ministry.

China’s foreign ministry responded sharply, warning that it would take “resolute measures” to protect its sovereignty and economic interests. The ministry urged the U.S. to stop weaponizing tariffs and undermining China’s right to development.

Despite growing concerns from economists and political opponents, Trump remains defiant, framing the tariff war as a necessary battle to reclaim American economic power.
