Trump’s Tariffs Target Indian Exports: Liquor, Meat & Sugar Among Worst-Hit Sectors

US President Donald Trump’s upcoming “Liberation Day” tariff plan could severely impact key Indian export sectors, triggering trade uncertainty amid fresh deal negotiations.

April 1, 2025: As President Donald Trump’s April 2 deadline for new reciprocal tariffs nears, Indian exporters are bracing for impact. While the US and India continue talks for a potential bilateral trade agreement, confusion persists over the scope and level of these tariffs.
