
UAE Achieves Historic Milestone with Over 1 Million Air Traffic Movements in 2024
Abu Dhabi [UAE], January 6: The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has announced a groundbreaking achievement as the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre surpassed one million air traffic movements in 2024, setting a new benchmark in global aviation excellence.
This milestone underscores the UAE’s critical role as a global aviation hub, leveraging its strategic location, advanced infrastructure, and state-of-the-art technologies to enhance operational efficiency and safety.
Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Chairman of GCAA, highlighted the significance of this achievement:

With over 20% growth in air traffic over the past two years, the UAE remains well-equipped to manage increasing volumes in the years ahead, backed by cutting-edge technology and skilled professionals.”

Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director-General of GCAA, emphasized the dedication behind this milestone:

The milestone was officially recorded on December 22, 2024, with the arrival of Emirates Flight 305 from Shanghai, marking a historic chapter in the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre’s journey.
