
Urban Company Launches "Insta Maid" Service, Sparks Heated Online Debate
March 15, 2025: Urban Company (UC), one of India’s largest home services platforms, has introduced a new on-demand domestic help service called “Insta Maids”, promising professional house help within 15 minutes. However, while some have hailed it as an innovative step towards streamlining household chores, others have criticized it as an exploitation of cheap labour.

The pilot program, currently available in select areas of Mumbai, allows users to book household help for tasks like cleaning, cooking, and mopping at an introductory rate of ₹49 per hour.
