February 1, 2025: Mumbai: Dinesh Nandwana, the 62-year-old chairman emeritus of Vakrangee, a prominent technology firm, passed away on January 31, 2025, during an Enforcement Directorate (ED) raid at his Andheri (East) residence.
The ED’s Jalandhar unit, in collaboration with local authorities, was conducting searches across multiple premises linked to Vakrangee, including Nandwana’s home, when the incident occurred. Sources revealed that Nandwana developed health complications during the proceedings, leading to his death.
The MIDC police have registered an accidental death report, and the cause of death will be determined after a postmortem examination. A senior police officer stated that Nandwana’s family has not lodged any complaint regarding ill-treatment during the raid.

Vakrangee’s Statement
Vakrangee issued an official statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), expressing their sorrow:
“…with deep sorrow, we hereby inform that our promoter and chairman emeritus, Dinesh Nandwana, aged 62 years has left us for the heavenly abode today afternoon i.e., January 31, 2025. Dinesh Nandwana was a first-generation entrepreneur who played a pivotal role in shaping Vakrangee’s growth. His vision transformed the company from a modest consultancy to a major player in the technology sector.”
Raid Context
During ED searches, it is standard practice to record statements of individuals at the premises and restrict their movement or communication. The ED has not released an official statement regarding the developments during the raid.
Nandwana, widely recognized as a visionary entrepreneur, was instrumental in scaling Vakrangee to new heights. His demise marks a significant loss for the Indian business community.
