The NCP-SP MP urges Civil Aviation Ministry to act against the airline’s frequent delays and poor passenger communication
June 18, 2025 – Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction) leader and Lok Sabha MP Supriya Sule strongly criticized Air India on Tuesday, citing “very bad service” and lack of communication after her flight from Delhi to Pune (AI 2971) was delayed by over three hours.
Taking to social media, Sule expressed frustration over the airline’s repeated delays and mismanagement, calling for immediate intervention from the Civil Aviation Ministry.
“Travelling from Delhi to Pune on @airindia flight AI 2971. The flight is delayed by over 3 hours—no clear communication, no updates, no assistance and very bad service,” Sule tweeted. “Such delays and mismanagement are becoming a norm with @airindia. Passengers are left stranded and helpless. This apathy is unacceptable.”
Sule tagged Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and the Ministry of Civil Aviation (@MoCA_GoI) in her post, demanding accountability from the national carrier.

The NCP(SP) MP’s sharp criticism reflects growing public discontent with Air India, which has faced increasing scrutiny over operational inefficiencies and inadequate customer service despite being under Tata Group management since early 2022.
With delays becoming more frequent and passenger complaints on the rise, the Civil Aviation Ministry is likely to face further pressure to act and ensure airlines provide timely updates, assistance, and improved services to travelers.
