The stock sale, executed privately with Endeavor Group Holdings, was confirmed through official filings and finalized on Wednesday at $158.32 per share. The deal strengthens Endeavor’s hold over TKO Group, which was formed following the 2023 merger of WWE and UFC.

Legal Cloud Over the Sale

The timing of the transaction is critical. McMahon is currently embroiled in a civil lawsuit filed by Janel Grant, a former WWE employee, who has accused him of sexual assault and sex trafficking. The lawsuit has shaken McMahon’s standing in the professional wrestling world.

Earlier this year, he stepped down from the TKO Board of Directors following the public fallout. McMahon has “categorically denied” all allegations.

Notably, one of the co-defendants in the lawsuit, John Laurinaitis, recently reached a confidential settlement with the plaintiff. As part of the agreement, Laurinaitis is expected to cooperate with Grant’s legal team and may testify against McMahon.

A Long Fall for WWE’s Architect

McMahon, once the dominant force behind WWE’s global success, has seen his ties with the company weaken since early 2024, as multiple controversies surfaced. His latest move to sell a major stake in TKO marks a significant financial and symbolic separation from the empire he built over decades.

Despite the developments, McMahon’s legal team insists that the Laurinaitis-Grant settlement does not impact their defense, maintaining that McMahon “never mistreated” the complainant.
