
What is the Record Date After Vedanta Declares ₹7 Per Share First Interim Dividend for FY26?

The board of Vedanta Ltd., led by billionaire Anil Agarwal, has declared its first interim dividend of ₹7 per share for FY26. The decision came at the conclusion of the board meeting on June 18, 2025, with the record date set as June 24, 2025.

JPMorgan expects Vedanta’s dividends to decline to ₹25 per share in FY26 and ₹27 in FY27, due to moderated cash flow expectations.
Coinciding with the dividend declaration, Vedanta also sold a 1.6% stake in its subsidiary Hindustan Zinc, raising ₹3,023 crore. Just last week, Hindustan Zinc had declared its own interim dividend of ₹10 per share, bringing ₹3,000 crore to Vedanta through its 64.92% holding.
Vedanta has a substantial retail investor base of 20 lakh, holding 11.25% stake as of March 2025. Meanwhile, promoter holding has decreased from over 65% in previous years to 56.38% now.
At 1:15 PM on June 18, Vedanta shares were trading at ₹457.65, down 0.3% intraday but recovering from early lows.
