Canada Police’s ultimatum to protesters to vacate streets of Ottawa

The provincial and state authorities called for an end to the cross-border vaccine mandate that triggered the trucker-led campaign, Canadian police gave an ultimatum to protestors who have been blocking Ottawa streets for 20 days to leave the city.

Meanwhile, officials stated that the latest of numerous recent protests at border crossings between Canada and the United States finally come to a peaceful conclusion.

In a notification handed to drivers outside parliament, Ottawa police stated anyone caught obstructing traffic or supporting others in doing so would face prosecution, penalties, and truck seizures, according to the statement.

After failing to displace the protestors, Trudeau invoked the Emergencies Act this week, giving the government broad new powers to put a stop to the protests over Covid restrictions. It was just the second time in Canadian history that such emergency powers were used in times of peace.
