Ex-NFL Star Adam “Pacman” Jones Charged Again After Alleged Assault on Police Officer

The former Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested in Kentucky on charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and assault of a law enforcement officer—adding to a long history of run-ins with the law.

Covington, KY, June 8, 2025 — Former NFL cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and assault of a police officer, according to multiple reports including ESPN, The Athletic, and the Cincinnati Enquirer.

The 41-year-old former Cincinnati Bengals star was taken into custody in Covington, Kentucky, just across the river from Cincinnati, at approximately 1:51 a.m. on June 7, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the Covington Police Department. Officials allege that Jones assaulted a Covington police officer during the incident. However, details regarding what triggered the confrontation remain undisclosed at this time.

Jones was booked into Kenton County Jail and later released on $10,000 bond around 11:30 a.m. the same day.

This latest arrest is part of a pattern of legal trouble for Jones, whose post-NFL career has been marred by multiple incidents involving law enforcement. In November 2023, he was arrested in Arlington, Texas, following the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul boxing match. He faced charges of assault on a peace officer, public intoxication, evading arrest, and resisting arrest. At the time, the Arlington Police Department claimed Jones attempted to flee while being handcuffed.

A representative for Jones told TMZ Sports then that he “adamantly denies the allegations and looks forward to explaining the truth when the time comes.”

Earlier in 2023, Jones was also detained at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport for causing a disruption on a flight. He was charged with alcohol intoxication, disorderly conduct, and terroristic threatening. He later pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly conduct as part of a plea deal.

Going further back, in 2017, he was arrested at the Millennium Hotel in Cincinnati and faced charges including assault, obstructing official business, disorderly conduct, and harassment with a bodily substance. He ultimately pleaded guilty to obstructing police, according to The New York Times.

Jones, once considered one of the most talented cornerbacks in the NFL, was selected sixth overall in the 2005 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans. While he played for multiple teams, including the Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos, he is most associated with his time at the Cincinnati Bengals, where he played the bulk of his career from 2010 to 2017.

His professional tenure was also marked by multiple NFL suspensions—he missed the entire 2007 season, most of 2008, and part of 2009 due to violations of the league’s personal conduct policy.

Once heralded as an elite athlete on the field, Jones’ legal troubles have increasingly overshadowed his football legacy. With yet another charge added to his record, the spotlight remains firmly fixed on his conduct off the field.
