December 6, 2024: Mariah Carey’s recent Christmas concert took an unexpected and chaotic turn when a fight broke out among fans during her performance of the holiday classic All I Want for Christmas Is You. The incident, captured on video, has gone viral on social media, sparking reactions ranging from amusement to disbelief.
The brawl erupted during the finale of Mariah’s show, according to reports from the New York Post. A video shared online shows two women—one with blonde hair and the other with curly hair—engaged in a heated altercation. The curly-haired woman appeared to shove the blonde woman, who retaliated by throwing a drink. The situation escalated as the curly-haired fan punched the blonde woman in the face.
Attempts to de-escalate the situation were made by other attendees, including a man in glasses who intervened between the two women. However, tensions spilled over, with another man joining the fray, leading to further pushing and shouting.
The video has garnered widespread attention online, with many commenting on the unusual scene at a holiday concert. “Those moms must have had too much wine,” joked one social media user. Another quipped, “This automatically gets you on the Naughty list! Not cool!”
A second clip shared by another attendee revealed more chaos, with additional fans seen punching and shoving one another. The individual claimed they were “standing right next to” the group when the fight erupted.
The altercation occurred during Mariah Carey’s 20-city Christmas tour, celebrating the 30th anniversary of her Merry Christmas album. The Grammy-winning artist recently performed in Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia, with the tour set to conclude on December 17 at the Barclays Center in New York.
While Mariah’s rendition of her iconic holiday hit may bring cheer, this concert’s conclusion brought anything but peace on earth.
