The accused Bangladeshi intruder, arrested in Thane, will be taken to the Bandra residence as part of the investigation.
January 20, 2025: Mumbai police plan to recreate the crime scene at Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan’s Bandra residence following a violent knife attack earlier this month. The suspect, a 30-year-old Bangladeshi national identified as Shariful Islam Shehzad Mohammad Rohilla Amin Fakir, was arrested in Thane and has been remanded to police custody for five days.
During this period, police are expected to take Shehzad to Khan’s apartment in the ‘Satguru Sharan’ building to reconstruct the events leading up to the attack. The move aims to clarify the circumstances of the crime and gather additional evidence.
Preliminary investigations suggest that Shehzad entered the building in the early hours of January 16 with the intent to steal. After scaling the seventh and eighth floors using a pipe in the duct area, he accessed the 12th floor, where Khan resides with his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their family. Shehzad allegedly entered the flat through a bathroom window.

Khan was rushed to Lilavati Hospital, where he underwent a five-hour-long surgery. Doctors have confirmed that the actor is now stable and recovering.
The case has attracted significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the victim and the unusual circumstances of the crime.
