Vikrant Massey Returns as a Fearless Journalist in ‘The Sabarmati Report’
Mumbai, October 25, 2025: After captivating audiences with his performances in 12th Fail and Sector 36, Vikrant Massey is set to take on another powerful role in the upcoming film, The Sabarmati Report. The film, directed by Dheeraj Sarna, delves into the tragic events surrounding the Sabarmati Express incident near Godhra on February 27, 2002.
The makers released a gripping teaser on Instagram, featuring Massey, Raashii Khanna, and Ridhi Dogra as journalists investigating the controversial event. The intense teaser shows a tense Massey in a courtroom, defiantly refusing to apologize, asserting, “It is the accused who should be held accountable,” when pressured to pay a hefty fine.
The post shared alongside the teaser read, “Aj ka Hindustan jawaab dena bhi jaanta hai, aur sawaal poochna bhi! The truth can be rattled, but not defeated.” This bold statement sets the tone for the film’s exploration of justice, truth, and accountability.
Produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, Amul V Mohan, and Anshul Mohan, The Sabarmati Report was initially set to release earlier in the year but has been rescheduled for a theatrical release on November 15.
Massey’s last film, Sector 36, depicted a gritty tale of crime and power, focusing on the disappearance of children from a slum and the unraveling of a chilling mystery. The Sabarmati Report is anticipated to carry a similar tone of intensity and intrigue, with a focus on truth-seeking and journalism.
