Celebs Celebrate Team India’s Thrilling Win in T20 World Cup Semi-Finals

There is a celebratory mood all around after India triumphed in the semi-final match against England in the T20 World Cup 2024. Numerous Bollywood celebrities took to social media to congratulate Team India on their phenomenal victory and to share their best wishes as the team advances to the final.

Actor Ajay Devgn expressed his excitement on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “It’s time to show that our Comeback > Setback. Only a step away from creating history! Well played boys! Time to bring home the 🏆.”

Ayushmann Khurrana lauded the team with his message, “Well played India! Whatta clinical and dominating self-assured performance by this bunch, esp Rohit, SKY, Kuldeep, Axar, Bumrah. Well deserved finalists! You got this guys!”

Abhishek Bachchan also extended his congratulations, saying, “Just one more step away from glory! Come on Team India!! All the best for the #T20WorldCup finals!”

Varun Dhawan celebrated the win by posting a picture of the Men in Blue on his Instagram story, captioned “Into The Final.”


Vikrant Massey also shared the same image and additionally posted a picture of cricketer Suryakumar Yadav with the caption, “SKY is the limit.”


In another story, he highlighted captain Rohit Sharma with the caption, “Boss.”

The match saw Jos Buttler’s England winning the toss and choosing to bowl against Rohit Sharma’s India. Rohit Sharma scored 57 runs from 39 balls, hitting 6 fours and 2 sixes, while Suryakumar Yadav contributed 47 runs from 36 balls, with 4 fours and 2 sixes, helping India reach a total of 171/7. Contributions also came from Hardik Pandya (23 runs from 13 balls, 1 four and 2 sixes) and Ravindra Jadeja (17* runs from 9 balls, 2 fours).

England’s Chris Jordan led the bowling attack, taking three wickets for 37 runs in his three-over spell. However, during the run chase, England struggled to adapt to the pitch conditions and were bowled out for 103 in 16.4 overs. Harry Brook (25 runs from 19 balls, 3 fours) and Jos Buttler (23 runs from 15 balls, 4 fours) were the notable contributors for England.

Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav spearheaded the Indian bowling attack, each taking three wickets, which helped India secure a 68-run victory. Jasprit Bumrah also played a key role by taking two wickets while defending the 172-run target.

The T20 World Cup final is now set for an exciting clash between the unbeaten sides, India and South Africa, scheduled to take place in Barbados on Saturday.
