November 2, 2024: Barry Keoghan is officially joining the Peaky Blinders universe! Netflix recently unveiled the first look of the Irish actor in the upcoming movie spinoff, where he’s seen driving a truck, donning the iconic Peaky Blinders cap, a leather jacket, and a fresh cut on his face, hinting at an intense role.
While fans are thrilled, details about Keoghan’s character are still under wraps. This marks his debut in the Peaky Blinders world, where he’ll be alongside Cillian Murphy, who returns as Tommy Shelby, the formidable leader of the gang. Other original cast members, including Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, and Ian Peck, will also reprise their roles. Joining them is Jay Lycurgo, adding to the excitement.
The film, directed by Tom Harper, promises to be an “epic continuation of the multi-award-winning gangster saga,” set in the lawless streets of Birmingham in the 1900s. Production began in September, and fans have already caught a glimpse of Murphy back in character. The script is penned by Steven Knight, who is also co-producing alongside Murphy and others, ensuring a strong creative team behind this highly anticipated project.
