Ayodhya: Surender Jain, Joint General Secretary of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), criticized the Congress for declining an invitation to the Pran Pratishtha ceremony of the Ram Temple on January 22, stating that the party cannot engage in politics by objecting to Lord Ram.
According to Jain, the Congress is now divided into two groups—one acknowledging that objecting to Lord Ram is not a viable political strategy, and the other targeting minority votes. The upcoming ceremony has sparked a political debate ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, as leaders from opposing parties of the India bloc, including Sitaram Yechury, Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, and Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, have declined the invitation. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected the arrangements in Ayodhya and expressed satisfaction with the planning. The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Ram Lalla at Ayodhya’s temple is scheduled for January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi set to perform rituals and a team of priests, led by Lakshmikant Dixit, overseeing the main rituals
