October 10, 2024: Deepika Padukone, who recently became a mother, has shared her thoughts on burnout and the challenges it brings. The actor and her husband Ranveer Singh welcomed their first child, a baby girl, last month. In a recent lecture series, Deepika opened up about sleep deprivation, burnout, and how they impact her well-being and decision-making.

Speaking during the Live Love Laugh Foundation Lecture series for World Mental Health Day 2024, hosted by entrepreneur Ariana Huffington, Deepika revealed her personal experiences of dealing with burnout. In the conversation, Deepika discussed how being sleep-deprived and overworked can negatively affect her performance and judgment.

“When you’re sleep-deprived or burnt out, the decisions you make are impacted. I can feel it on certain days when I haven’t slept enough or haven’t practiced my self-care rituals. It affects my decision-making,” Deepika shared.

In another segment, Deepika addressed the importance of handling criticism and negative emotions like pain and anger. She emphasised the value of learning from criticism rather than letting it hold you back. “It’s human to feel pain, anger, and other extreme emotions. But the bigger picture is how you use that criticism to improve yourself. You need to put in the work and be patient,” she advised.

Deepika and Ranveer Singh joyfully announced the arrival of their daughter on September 8, 2024. The couple shared the news on social media, stating, “Welcome Baby Girl 8.9.2024. Deepika and Ranveer.” Bollywood stars including Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, and Kareena Kapoor showered the couple with well-wishes.
