According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), more rain is expected over the next few days, with heavy showers predicted to continue. The IMD has advised residents to stay indoors and take necessary precautions. Temperatures are expected to remain cool, with highs of 34°C and lows of 27°C. Thunderstorms and moderate rain will likely persist, causing potential disruptions.
The IMD noted that conditions are favorable for the further advancement of the southwest monsoon into more parts of North India, including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Chandigarh, Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, and Jammu over the next two to three days.
The Delhi government has issued advisories urging residents to avoid non-essential travel and stay away from waterlogged areas. Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) teams are working to clear clogged drains and manage the overflow of water to mitigate further disruptions.
