In his announcement, Agnihotri highlighted the extensive research that went into the film, indicating that the story is significant enough to explore in two parts. Agnihotri has a strong track record in filmmaking, having made his directorial debut with Chocolate: Deep Dark Secrets in 2005, featuring an ensemble cast that included Anil Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi.
His recent works, The Kashmir Files and The Tashkent Files, have garnered both critical acclaim and commercial success, with The Kashmir Files winning the Nargis Dutt Award for Best Film on National Integration at the 69th National Film Awards.
