Aahana Kumra Blasts Dhanashree Verma for Constantly Bringing Up Her Divorce

A fierce verbal spat has erupted on the reality show Rise and Fall after Aahana Kumra criticized Dhanashree Verma for repeatedly bringing up her divorce. The clash highlights a heated debate over personal stories versus playing a “victim card” on the show.

September 10, 2025: The turmoil on the reality show Rise & Fall has gotten even worse after participants Aahana Kumra and Dhanashree Verma got into a fight. The fight started when Verma, a choreographer who just got divorced from cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, talked about her personal life and how the job had helped her.

The two teams on the show, the Rulers and Workers, were talking about how power works when the fight started. Dhanashree disagreed with Aahana when she said that the Workers were deferring to veteran actor Arjun Bijlani. She said that talent, not experience, should be the deciding factor. She then talked about her own problems, saying, “I’m standing here, and the whole world is against me, but I’m getting work done today.” I love the industry because people still hire me. I keep getting movie offers, not because of what happened, but because I’m good at what I do.

At the time, Dhanashree’s words weren’t immediately addressed, but later Aahana told her fellow contenders Aditya Narayan and Nayandeep Rakshit how upset she was. “Why does Dhanashree keep talking about her divorce?” Aahana said. “She has to stop. We’re cheering her, but “I’m divorced, and all of this is happening to me”—come on, stop the sob story. “Don’t play the victim card; you’re here to play the game.”

This isn’t the first time Dhanashree has spoken about her divorce on the show. She had informed other contestants before that even though she and Chahal had broken up, she still respected him and would rather let her work speak for itself than do bad PR.

Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal met during the COVID-19 pandemic and got married in December 2020. They got a mutual consent divorce in March 2021 after separating in June 2022.

Ashneer Grover hosts Rise & Fall, which first aired on Amazon MX Player on September 6. The show splits fifteen famous people into two groups: the “Rulers,” who live in luxury, and the “Workers,” who have to do chores to go ahead in the world. Both Aahana Kumra and Dhanashree Verma are on the Rulers team.
