Aamir Khan reflects on decades of competition and camaraderie with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, revealing how their spontaneous Ambani wedding skit proved they’ve moved from rivals to collaborators.

March 25, 2025: In a rare moment of candor, Aamir Khan has confirmed what many fans long suspected: in their early days, Bollywood’s iconic Khans — Shah Rukh, Salman, and Aamir — were locked in fierce competition, not camaraderie.

Speaking to Just Too Filmy on YouTube, Aamir acknowledged, “Of course there was rivalry. Each of us wanted to outpace the other two.” The Lagaan actor didn’t shy away from admitting that they weren’t exactly friends in the beginning. “There were disagreements too, some of which were well documented in the media,” he added with a smile.

Despite those early years of tension, Aamir shared that time has softened those competitive edges. “It’s been 35 years now. That rivalry is behind us. Today, there’s genuine warmth, comfort, and friendship among us,” he explained. The three Khans — all born in 1965 — debuted in the late 1980s and became the unshakable pillars of Hindi cinema ever since.

The Ambani Wedding Skit: A Turning Point

Recalling the recent Ambani pre-wedding celebrations in Jamnagar, where the trio shared the stage for a skit, Aamir revealed how the collaboration came together. “Shah Rukh and Salman had already planned something. Mukesh bhai called me and asked if I could join too. It was a last-minute thing, but I said yes immediately.”

The trio huddled for just 30 minutes and created a skit that delighted fans and stole headlines. But for Aamir, the real magic was backstage.

“The ease with which we shared ideas — saying yes or no freely — was new. That comfort wasn’t there earlier. After we wrapped rehearsals, I told them: ‘Now we can definitely do a film together.’ And they agreed.”

While there’s no official confirmation on such a collaboration yet, the possibility of seeing all three Khans in a single film has reignited fan hopes across generations.
