Aamir Khan on Junaid Khan’s Loveyapa Failure: "Accha Hua, He’ll Only Grow From Here"
March 24, 2025: Aamir Khan Reacts to Son Junaid’s Loveyapa Setback: “It’s Good It Happened Early”
Veteran actor Aamir Khan has weighed in on his son Junaid Khan’s debut film Loveyapa struggling at the box office, and his response might surprise many. In a candid chat with Instant Bollywood, Aamir said, “Accha hua (It’s good that it happened).” Rather than being disheartened, the superstar sees this early failure as an important lesson in his son’s budding acting career.
“I think he’s doing well, and he will continue to learn,” Aamir said, showing confidence in Junaid’s potential despite the lukewarm reception to Loveyapa, which co-starred Khushi Kapoor.
Aamir praised Junaid’s dedication and acting skills, especially pointing out how he completely immerses himself in his characters. Referencing his performance in both Loveyapa and the upcoming Maharaj, Aamir said, “While watching Maharaj, I felt he became the person, and in Loveyapa too, he is convincingly Gaurav.”

Despite the praise, Aamir didn’t shy away from acknowledging areas where Junaid needs growth. “He’s not great at dancing, and he’s a bit awkward in interviews,” he noted with a smile, recalling his own early struggles in media appearances and public interactions. “I was very shy too,” Aamir added.
He also pointed out that both he and Junaid often take unconventional paths driven by a deep-rooted value system, even when those choices aren’t always the most practical. That shared mindset, Aamir believes, is something that will help his son navigate the highs and lows of showbiz.
Concluding with optimism, Aamir said he’s proud of Junaid for taking on challenges and hopes that the experience from Loveyapa will only make him stronger. “Setbacks are not the end; they’re the beginning of learning,” he said, summing up his belief in Junaid’s growth as both an actor and a person.
