Discussing his vision for the coming years, Aamir said, “I want to produce a lot more films and give opportunities to young talent. I’ll continue acting too. Earlier, I would do one film in 2-3 years, but over the next decade, I hope to work on one film per year. I want to produce movies with stories that truly resonate with me.”

When asked about his much-anticipated Mahabharata, Aamir called it his “dream project” but admitted to feeling overwhelmed. “It’s a very scary project because it’s so massive, and I’m afraid of getting it wrong. Mahabharata holds immense importance for Indians—it’s in our blood, it’s part of who we are. I feel a huge responsibility to get it right and make every Indian proud. I also want to showcase to the world what India has to offer. I don’t know if it will happen, but I’ll work towards it.”
This isn’t the first time Aamir’s Mahabharata plans have surfaced. In 2018, writer Anjum Rajabali revealed that Aamir was exploring a grand cinematic adaptation of the epic. Aamir even stepped away from the Rakesh Sharma biopic to focus on Mahabharata, which was rumored to have a ₹1000 crore budget.
Following the underperformance of Laal Singh Chaddha, Aamir took a break from acting. However, the actor is set to return with Sitaare Zameen Par, a sequel to Taare Zameen Par. Directed by RS Prasanna, the film also stars Darsheel Safary and Genelia Deshmukh. Based on the 2018 Spanish film Champions, it is currently in post-production and will release in 2025.
Aamir’s candid acknowledgment of his fears and dreams highlights the dedication he brings to his craft, promising more ambitious and inspiring stories in the future.
