Aamir Khan Postpones 'Sitaare Zameen Par' Trailer Launch Following Pahalgam Terror Attack
April 29, 2025: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s highly anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par was set to launch its trailer this week. However, in light of the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the film’s team has decided to delay the release as a mark of respect for the lives lost in the tragic incident.
Initially scheduled for a grand trailer launch with major promotional efforts underway, the film’s team made the decision to postpone the release after thoughtful consideration. A source close to the actor stated, “Aamir Khan and his team felt it would be inappropriate to proceed with the launch at this time.” The new trailer release date will be announced soon, once the appropriate time is deemed.
The film, which marks Aamir Khan’s comeback to the big screen, is a spiritual sequel to the heartwarming 2007 film Taare Zameen Par. Unlike its predecessor, which dealt with deep emotional themes, Sitaare Zameen Par promises to bring humor to the same subject matter, focusing on people with different abilities and challenges. While Taare Zameen Par showcased the emotional journey of a young boy with dyslexia, Sitaare Zameen Par flips the narrative by following a character who, through his interactions with children facing various challenges, learns to confront his own shortcomings.
In addition to Aamir Khan, the film also stars Darsheel Safary and Genelia D’Souza in pivotal roles. The film follows a transformative journey, with the protagonist learning important life lessons from children who perceive the world differently.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Aamir Khan elaborated on the film’s theme, describing it as a humorous take on the challenges faced by people with unique abilities. He said, “Well, it’s a beautiful story. Actually, the easiest way I can describe it is that Taare Zameen Par is a very emotional film that makes you cry. Sitaare Zameen Par makes you laugh; it’s a humorous film.” Aamir emphasized that while the theme is similar to Taare Zameen Par, this time the narrative focuses on humor rather than emotion.
He also expressed that Sitaare Zameen Par takes the theme further, saying, “In many ways, I feel it’s way ahead of Taare Zameen Par, because in Taare Zameen Par, the person with the challenge – Ishaan – was helped by my character. In Sitaare Zameen Par, it’s ten people with challenges who help me, the supposedly ‘normal’ person. So I feel it goes much further. I hope it turns out well.”
The film marks Aamir’s return to cinemas after the underperformance of his previous release, Laal Singh Chaddha. Sitaare Zameen Par is set to release in December this year, and fans are eagerly awaiting to see Aamir Khan back in action on the big screen.
As of now, the trailer’s release date remains postponed, but anticipation for the film continues to build. Stay tuned for further updates on the trailer release and more exciting details about Sitaare Zameen Par.
