Aamir Khan Shines in Heartfelt ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ Trailer: A Tale of Laughter, Love, and Inclusion

May 13, 2025: The much-anticipated trailer of Aamir Khan’s upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par was finally unveiled on Tuesday, giving fans a glimpse into a heartfelt and inspiring story centered around intellectual disabilities and the power of second chances.

A spiritual successor to Aamir’s 2007 cult classic Taare Zameen Par, this film takes the emotional depth of its predecessor and blends it with humour and sports drama. The trailer, spanning 3 minutes and 29 seconds, introduces Aamir Khan as a basketball coach who is sentenced by a court to train a team of intellectually disabled individuals—a punishment linked to a drink-and-drive case.

The film appears to be a family entertainer, brimming with joy, struggle, and uplifting moments. Aamir’s character, initially resistant, gradually builds a heartfelt bond with his team. In one comic scene, he hilariously debates the importance of jerseys with one of the players, capturing the warmth and challenges of his journey.

Actress Genelia Deshmukh is seen as Aamir’s love interest, adding a romantic subplot to the emotional core of the story.

Directed by R.S. Prasanna, known for breaking taboos with Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Sitaare Zameen Par features ten fresh faces: Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra, and Simran Mangeshkar, all playing pivotal roles in the film.

Produced under Aamir Khan Productions, the film features music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya, and background score by Ram Sampath. The screenplay is crafted by Divy Nidhi Sharma.

While sharing the trailer on Instagram, the makers wrote:

“1 Tingu Basketball Coach, 10 Toofani SITAARE aur unki journey. Watch #SitaareZameenPar #SabkaApnaApnaNormal, 20th June, Only In Theatres. Trailer Out Now!”

‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is set to hit theatres on June 20, 2025, and promises to be an uplifting cinematic experience, highlighting the message that “normal” is different for everyone.
