May 16, 21025 : Singer Aastha Gill, known for chartbusters like ‘DJ Wale Babu’ and ‘Kamariya’, made a glamorous debut on the red carpet at the 78th Cannes Film Festival on Friday. Dressed in a bold yet elegant ensemble, Aastha captured the attention of global attendees, showcasing not only her musical fame but also her fashion-forward persona.

Reflecting on her experience, Aastha shared, “Walking the red carpet at Cannes was surreal — it felt like a dream woven with years of music, culture, and creativity. I wanted my look to reflect not just who I am as an artist, but also the vibrancy and power of where I come from.”
Joining Aastha in representing Indian excellence on the global stage was Nitanshi Goel, the 17-year-old breakout star of the Oscar-shortlisted Laapataa Ladies. Nitanshi made her debut on Thursday with a powerful and emotionally resonant look that paid homage to legendary women of Indian cinema.
Her first appearance featured a custom ivory saree by Jade by Monica & Karishma, styled by Shrey and Urja. Hairpins bearing the faces of screen icons such as Madhubala, Nargis, Meena Kumari, Rekha, and Sridevi elevated her look into a tribute to cinematic heritage. A pearl-beaded blouse and delicate embroidery echoed timeless Indian fashion aesthetics.
Later in the evening, Nitanshi switched to a dramatic black gown with gold embroidery, also by Jade, as she attended the screening of Dossier 137, continuing to merge modern elegance with deep cultural symbolism.
Together, Aastha Gill and Nitanshi Goel’s appearances signal a new wave of South Asian talent and heritage making its mark at Cannes 2025 — not just through performance, but through powerful visual storytelling.
