
Abdu Rozik Detained at Dubai Airport, But Not Arrested, Says Team
July 13, 2025: Tajikistani singer and social media influencer Abdu Rozik was detained by authorities at Dubai International Airport early Saturday morning but was not arrested, according to his management team, S-Line Project.
Contrary to circulating reports claiming an arrest, S-Line Project issued a statement emphasizing that Abdu Rozik was only detained for questioning and later released. The statement said, “First of all, he is not arrested, he was only detained by the police. Abdu Rozik gave his explanations and was released. Today he will participate in the award ceremony which will be held in Dubai. Secondly, information in media is not correct. We will take all legal action to protect Abdu Rozik and his image.”
The management further added, “Believe us, we have a lot to say regarding this issue.”
Earlier, news agency had reported that Abdu was taken into custody around 5 a.m. after arriving in Dubai from Montenegro, but the details of the complaint remained undisclosed. A representative told Khaleej Times that he was detained on allegations of theft but declined to share more information.
Who is Abdu Rozik?
Abdu Rozik gained fame through his music, viral videos, and appearances on reality TV shows like Bigg Boss 16. Known for hits such as Ohi Dili Zor, Chaki Chaki Boron, and Modar, he has a significant fan following. In 2022, he performed at the 22nd IIFA Awards in Abu Dhabi, singing the popular Hindi song Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga.
In 2024, Abdu was questioned by India’s Enforcement Directorate in a money laundering probe involving a hospitality company, though he was not named as an accused.
As of now, Abdu Rozik is free and scheduled to attend an award ceremony in Dubai.
