Abhishek Bachchan’s ‘Be Happy’: A Heartwarming Tale Of Father-Daughter Bond And Pursuing Dreams

March 8, 2025: Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan is all set to charm audiences with his upcoming film Be Happy, which beautifully portrays the emotional journey of a father supporting his daughter’s dream. The film, directed by Remo D’Souza, follows Shiv (played by Abhishek), a dedicated single father to his bright and passionate daughter, Dhara (Inayat Verma). Their life in Ooty takes a turn when Dhara dreams of participating in a major dance reality show in Mumbai. However, a crisis threatens to crush her dreams, and Shiv faces the difficult choice of whether to let his daughter go after her dreams or keep her close to protect her.

Abhishek shared that his character Shiv is a widower and a banker in Ooty who struggles with letting his daughter pursue her passion. “Dhara wants to participate in a dance competition and go to Mumbai. However, her father is reluctant to send her away from her,” Abhishek explained. “Later, he allows her to go, and it shows the struggle of a father to fulfill his daughter’s dream.” Abhishek emphasized that while many films focus on the sacrifices mothers make for their children, Be Happy sheds light on the powerful love and sacrifices of a father.

The film showcases the complexities of their relationship as Shiv eventually supports Dhara’s dream, embarking on an emotional journey of rediscovery and self-realization. It’s a story that celebrates the bond between a father and daughter while exploring themes of resilience, sacrifice, and the pursuit of one’s passion.

Directed by Remo D’Souza, who is known for his expertise in dance and storytelling, Be Happy brings out the essence of family dynamics in a heartwarming and relatable way. “It’s a simple story of a father and daughter,” D’Souza said. “We have seen many films showing the bond of a mother with her children; this I have made from the point of view of a father.”

Abhishek also praised his young co-star, Inayat Verma, for her mature portrayal of Dhara. “She is not a child artist but a mature actor who comes well-prepared on sets,” he said. “We didn’t need to put much effort while working with her.”

The film also stars Nora Fatehi, Johny Lever, and Harleen Sethi. Nora, who plays an important role in the film, expressed her excitement about working on a project that blends both her passions for acting and dancing. “Working on Be Happy has been an incredibly rewarding experience,” she shared. “Portraying a dancer was especially meaningful to me, and sharing the screen with Abhishek Bachchan was fantastic.”

With its mix of dance, humor, bittersweet moments, and emotional depth, Be Happy is shaping up to be an unforgettable cinematic experience. Abhishek describes his role as an emotional journey, saying, “Playing Shiv was an emotional journey, as he is a father fighting against time and fate to make his daughter’s dream come true.”

Be Happy is a powerful reminder of the resilience we all need to face life’s toughest moments, just as one would in dance. The film is set to premiere exclusively on Prime Video on March 14, offering audiences a moving and uplifting tale of love, sacrifice, and the pursuit of happiness.
