‘Ace’ Box Office Collection Day 1: Vijay Sethupathi’s Heist Comedy Thriller Opens with ₹1 Crore

Vijay Sethupathi’s crime comedy marks the debut of Rukmini Vasanth and earns ₹1 crore on its opening day.

May 24, 2025Chennai – Vijay Sethupathi’s much-awaited heist comedy thriller Ace hit theatres on May 23 and has opened to a decent start at the box office. The Tamil film collected ₹1 crore across India on its first day, according to early reports.

A Promising Start Despite Mixed Reviews

While the film received mixed reviews from critics, it’s expected to pick up momentum over the weekend as Sethupathi’s films traditionally do well at the box office. The movie follows the story of Bold Kannan, who relocates to Malaysia for a fresh start. However, a heist gone wrong drags him into a dangerous underworld, forcing him to navigate a tangled web of deceit and survival.
