Actor Anant Nag “Thankful To PM Modi” On Padma Bhushan Honour

January 26, 2025: Veteran actor Anant Nag has been honoured with the prestigious Padma Bhushan award, a recognition of his immense contributions to Indian cinema. In his response to the honor, Nag expressed heartfelt gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Government of India for bestowing him with the esteemed award.

Nag mentioned that the award holds a special significance as it comes after years of people, particularly Kannadigas, recommending his name for the Padma Awards. “PM Modi had said three years ago that there should be more participation in the Padma Awards, and since then, thousands of Kannadigas have been sending my name to the Prime Minister’s Office,” he shared. He added, “I am happy and thankful to PM Modi and the Government of India.”

The actor’s recognition also received warm wishes from fellow industry professionals. ‘KGF’ star Yash expressed his pride, referring to Anant Nag as “a connoisseur of Indian cinema.” Yash praised Nag’s immeasurable contributions to Indian films and celebrated the actor as the “pride of Karnataka,” emphasizing that the award was a well-deserved acknowledgment of his impact on the industry.

The Padma Bhushan, one of India’s highest civilian honors, is awarded to individuals who have rendered distinguished service of a high order. The Padma Awards are conferred based on recommendations made by the Padma Awards Committee, which is headed by the Cabinet Secretary and includes eminent personalities.

Prime Minister Modi also congratulated all the Padma awardees, calling their achievements extraordinary and inspiring. He acknowledged their hard work, passion, and dedication, which have made significant positive impacts on society.
