Actor-Poet Priya Malik Suffers Burns and Loses Engagement Ring in Diwali Fire Scare

Actor-poet Priya Malik recently recounted a terrifying “near-death scare” on Diwali night when her Anarkali dress caught fire. The Bigg Boss fame personality described the incident as the “scariest” of her life, admitting she momentarily thought, “I am gone!”

Recounting the event that took place outside her Bandra home after the puja, Malik explained, “I love dressing up on occasion, so I was wearing a flowy Anarkali suit which caught fire from the diya behind me.”

Her parents immediately shouted warnings. In a panic, her reaction was to remove the dress, but it got momentarily stuck over her head. “My father helped me take it off, and my mom gave me her dupatta to cover myself. Anything could have happened,” she shared.

The family immediately rushed her to Hinduja Hospital in Khar. Fortunately, Malik’s injuries were determined to be superficial burns. She has burns on her back, waist, shoulder, and a finger, but noted that her artificial hair bun was burnt and likely saved her original hair.

In the chaos, Malik also suffered a significant loss: her diamond engagement ring. “We were just outside my home compound but could not find it despite a thorough search,” she stated, adding, “Woh kehte hain na: Museebat kuch na kuch le jaati hai. Probably, it was the ring for me. That’s how I am consoling myself!”

After sharing the ordeal on Instagram, Malik was flooded with messages from well-wishers and others who shared their own fire-related accidents, leading her to realize the true danger of such incidents.
