Actress Anshu Come Forward To Defend Director Trinadha Rao Over Body Shaming Remark
January 14, 2025: Actress Anshu has responded to the controversy surrounding director Trinadha Rao Nakkina’s remarks about her physical appearance at the teaser launch event of Mazaka. In a self-recorded video, Anshu explained that the director’s comments were taken out of context and emphasized that Rao had always treated her with kindness and respect throughout the filming process.
At the Mazaka teaser launch in Hyderabad, Trinadha Rao made remarks about Anshu’s physique, suggesting that she needed to gain weight to meet the expectations of the Telugu audience. His comments were criticized by many on social media for body-shaming, leading to a public apology from the director. He clarified that his intention was only to make a light-hearted comment but acknowledged that his words had unintentionally hurt some people.
In her video response, Anshu assured her fans and the public that the director’s comments were not meant to offend her, adding that he treated her like family throughout the production of Mazaka. She praised Rao as a “lovely man” and expressed gratitude for the positive working environment. She encouraged everyone to focus on the film for the right reasons and not on the controversy.
Anshu, who is returning to Telugu cinema after two decades, expressed her excitement for the release of Mazaka, which also stars Sundeep Kishan and Rao Ramesh. She had previously appeared in the 2002 hit film Manmadhudu, alongside Nagarjuna and Sonali Bendre.
