A case has been registered against her in Kochi following a complaint that she earned money by acting in and promoting ‘obscene films,’ with the FIR filed after a directive from the Ernakulam Chief Judicial Magistrate Court.

August 6, 2025: Someone in Kochi, Kerala, is suing actress Swetha Menon because they allege she got money by participating in and promoting “obscene films.” The Kochi Central Police filed the case under the IT Act and Section 67(a) of the Obscenity Act.

It is alleged that Martin Menachery, a public activist, filed the complaint. He went on to say that a lot of the actress’s movies, such as Rathinirvedam and Kalimannu, had sequences that were not proper. The complainant also mentioned an ad for a condom that she had been in earlier.

Remember that the FIR was lodged after the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Court in Ernakulam gave the order. Shweta Menon is presently standing for president of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), which has led some people to worry about the timing of the case.
