Adam Brody Bags Best Actor In A Comedy Series At 2025 Critics Choice Awards, Celebrates Win With A Steamy Kiss

Adam Brody made a triumphant return to the spotlight at the 2025 Critics Choice Awards, where he took home the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his role as Rabbi Noah Roklov in the Netflix comedy Nobody Wants This. The ceremony, held on Friday (early Saturday morning in India) at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California, saw Brody triumph over stiff competition from fellow nominees including Brian Jordan Alvarez, David Alan Grier, Steve Martin, and Martin Short.

Brody expressed his excitement in his acceptance speech, saying, “This is such a thrill. Thank you so much to the Critics Choice for this honor.” His portrayal of Rabbi Noah, a character grappling with faith, relationships, and life’s complexities, resonated deeply with both critics and audiences alike.

The actor’s performance as the unconventional rabbi, who embarks on an unexpected romantic journey with agnostic podcast host Joanne (Kristen Bell), has been widely praised for its emotional depth and comedic timing. Brody dedicated the win to his wife, actress Leighton Meester, with whom he shares two children. He expressed heartfelt gratitude, saying, “My darling, darling, darling wife Leighton, thank you for sharing this life with me and this journey with me. Thank you for our family. I love you with all my heart.”

Brody also took the opportunity to thank the key contributors to Nobody Wants This, including his co-star Kristen Bell and the show’s creator Erin Foster. He said, “Thank you for your talent, thank you for your kindness, thank you for your belief in me,” adding that the award felt like a “Hanukkah present” for Bell.

Looking ahead, Brody is excited about the upcoming second season of Nobody Wants This, which was filmed in Los Angeles. He said, “I can’t wait to run it back with you guys in a few weeks.”

The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards, which was rescheduled from January 12 due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles, was hosted by Chelsea Handler. The event celebrated the best in film and television, with Conclave and Wicked dominating the film nominations. In the television category, Shogun led with six nominations, while several other hit shows such as Abbott Elementary, Hacks, and The Diplomat garnered multiple nods.

The ceremony was streamed live on Lionsgate Play in India, bringing the star-studded celebration of talent to international audiences.
