The camaraderie between India’s top filmmakers reached a new high this Friday as Aditya Dhar took to social media to thank Sandeep Reddy Vanga for his fearless defense of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge.
The exchange follows Vanga’s scathing critique of detractors who have labeled the Ranveer Singh-starrer as “propaganda,” with the Animal director calling such labels a “Kaala Drishti” (evil eye) on the film’s success.
Replying to Vanga on X (formerly Twitter), Dhar penned a heartfelt note expressing his deep respect for Vanga’s conviction. “Mere Pyaare Sandeep, I genuinely love the way you stand your ground and give it back when it matters,” Dhar wrote. He praised Vanga’s “real honesty” and credited him for inspiring other filmmakers to trust their creative voices without bowing to external “noise.” Dhar also extended his warmth to South superstar Prabhas, wishing Vanga luck for his upcoming project, Spirit.
The controversy began when Sandeep Reddy Vanga slammed the “selective outrage” of critics, pointing out that many in the industry who now mock Dhurandhar 2 built their own careers on similar narratives. Vanga’s viral post, which suggested that a “handful of red chilies” wouldn’t be enough to ward off the negativity surrounding the film, ended with high praise for the sequel, calling it an “outstanding film.”
Released on March 19, 2026, Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge has continued the massive commercial legacy of the first installment, which famously crossed the ₹1000 crore mark worldwide. Produced by B62 Studios and Jio Studios, the film features a powerhouse ensemble including Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, and Arjun Rampal, solidifying its position as one of the biggest Hindi cinema franchises in recent history.
