May 8, 2025: Adnan Sami, the singer who renounced his Pakistani citizenship to become an Indian national in 2016, once again found himself at the center of online debate after voicing his support for India during Operation Sindoor. The military operation, aimed at neutralizing threats across the border, triggered a wave of patriotic reactions on social media — with Sami’s being among the most vocal. His posts lauding the bravery of the Indian Armed Forces, including one that simply said “Jai Hind,” sparked both applause and backlash online.

While many praised the Lift Kara De singer for his unwavering support of India, some users questioned his loyalty and motives. Trolls flooded his posts with pointed remarks, with one user asking whether he was tweeting in support of the RSS to save himself. Unfazed, Sami clapped back: “Tum RSS ko bhool jaao…Tum apni a** ko bachaao!!!” — a sharp retort that quickly gained attention.

Another user went further, posting a direct threat in Urdu: “A** to teri pharen gy wo b or hum b,” to which Sami responded by posting an image of a green thread and needle — symbolizing Pakistan — and captioned it, “Uss waqt tak yeh meri taraf se tohfa (Until then, here’s a gift from me – a sewing kit).” The sarcastic jab was widely shared and interpreted as a witty yet biting response to the abusive comments.

This isn’t the first time Sami has had to defend his decision to become an Indian citizen. He has often faced criticism from across the border for embracing India, but the singer has consistently remained unapologetic. In one recent post, he shared a moment from a trip to Baku, Azerbaijan, where he encountered young Pakistani nationals who told him he was “lucky” for having left Pakistan. “They said, ‘Sir, you are very lucky. You left Pakistan in good time. We also want to change our citizenship. We hate our army – they have destroyed our country.’ I replied, ‘I knew this long ago,’” Sami wrote on X (formerly Twitter), a post that quickly went viral.

Another troll questioned what he would do if a war broke out between India and Pakistan. Sami responded bluntly: “Being judgmental & pseudo-patriotic from UK… Yeah right! I’m extremely happy in India!”

Despite the trolls, Adnan Sami’s message is clear: his allegiance lies with India, and he has no patience for those questioning it. His firm and often humorous responses to online vitriol continue to resonate with his supporters — while sparking heated discussions across social media platforms.
