Advance Bookings for Karan Arjun Re-Release Surge Amid High Demand

November 20, 2024: The magic of Karan Arjun is back! Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the 1995 blockbuster starring Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan is all set to return to the big screen on November 22. Directed by Rakesh Roshan, the re-release has already generated tremendous excitement, with advance bookings opening earlier than planned to meet high audience demand.

The film will be screened on an impressive 1200 screens in India and 600 screens internationally, marking one of the widest re-releases for a Bollywood classic. Speaking about the buzz, director Rakesh Roshan shared, “The demand is growing, and we’ve already seen 20% to 30% inquiries for ticket bookings in places where advance sales opened early. That’s a great sign for a re-release.”

A Fresh Look for a Timeless Classic
Rakesh Roshan revealed that Karan Arjun has been given a technical upgrade to appeal to a new generation of viewers, including Gen Z. “I’ve treated this re-release as a brand-new film. The sound has been upgraded to 5.1 Dolby, the colors have been corrected, and a complete digital intermediate (DI) was done to enhance the film’s visuals. When I recently watched it, I was amazed by how fresh it looked with these advancements.”

Roshan also shared his excitement about introducing the film to a younger audience who may have never experienced it in theaters. “I’m eager to see how today’s audience reacts to the film. It feels like a brand-new release to me as a filmmaker,” he added.

Ahead of the announcement, Roshan reached out to both Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, who expressed their enthusiasm for the film’s re-release. The director said, “Both Salman and Shah Rukh were thrilled that the film would be celebrated this way. Since then, we’ve released the teaser and trailer on social media, and the reactions have been phenomenal. I’m sure they’re receiving as much love and excitement as I am.”
