AICWA Condemns Ranveer Allahbadia's 'Incest' Remarks On 'India's Got Latent,' Demands Ban And Legal Action
February 11, 2025: The All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) has strongly condemned Ranveer Allahbadia’s offensive remarks on the YouTube show India’s Got Latent, hosted by comedian Samay Raina, and has called for an immediate ban on the show along with legal action against those involved. AICWA stated that Allahbadia’s comments, made during an episode of the show, were disrespectful to societal and family values and posed a threat to the moral fabric of society.
In response to the controversy, the AICWA has officially boycotted India’s Got Latent and urged the Indian film industry to cease collaborations with the individuals involved, including host Samay Raina and Allahbadia. The association has also demanded the removal of the episode in question and called for stricter regulations for digital content.
The remarks made by Allahbadia quickly went viral, triggering widespread backlash. Allahbadia later issued an apology for his “inappropriate” comments, admitting that they were insensitive and not funny. He also requested the removal of the offensive sections from the episode and pledged to be more mindful in the future.
A complaint has been filed with the Mumbai Commissioner and Maharashtra Women’s Commission regarding the show’s use of abusive language and inappropriate content about women.
